Reverse Angle
The opposite view of the location pictured in yesterday’s post. Scanned negative from the Pentax ME Super.
20 Years Later
Same camera and lens as was used for the image that was posted here yesterday. This was taken the other day on T-MAX black and white film, twenty years after yesterday’s Ektachrome slide. Also of note, the camera was already 14 years old when I shot yesterday’s photo. I’m real happy that the old gear is holding up well and still producing such nice images. It’s a fun diversion for me to work with the old analog gear. It takes a lot more thought and patience to produce a good image than with modern digital equipment and I feel that it is a good mental exercise for me as well as being artistically rewarding.
Holiday Halo
As you can see from my recent postings I’ve been turning my camera to the night skies a lot recently. Christmas Eve was no exception, I came home from visiting with family and as I walked across my front yard I looked up and saw this wonderful halo around the moon. I have a portfolio of moon halo images that I’ve made over the years and this is another nice one for me to add to my collection.
Looking Up
For the first time in what seems like forever I took a night off from processing images for clients and spent some time in the woods. I brushed the dust off my old telescope and and really enjoyed looking at the cosmos for a change instead of looking at a computer screen. This image shows a clear sky full of stars and planets through a stand of trees that were illuminated by the flickering light of my campfire. Jupiter can be seen straight up through the trees in the constellation of Taurus.
Hello Dali
I felt it wouldn’t be inappropriate to get “artistic” with this image that I took while I was outside the Salvador Dali Museum last week.
A Light Sprinkling of Snow
With all the oppressive heat that we are suffering from around here is it any wonder that I keep daydreaming of being here?
Dreams
Dreaming of a time when my town was a sleepy little dot on the map consisting mostly of citrus groves and pastures. Progress marches on and now every square inch of the land you see in this image is covered with apartment complexes and parking lots. I happened to noticed today that there is a theme surrounding this week’s posts. It was just a happy coincidence but now I think I will stick with it through Friday just for fun.
The Road Less Traveled
In the mountains of New Mexico. I’m really looking forward to the next photography tour that I’m leading here later this year.
Burnt Woods
I’ve found myself working with patterns the last few days. This is one of the images that I have been toying with.
