Spice Things Up

Waiting For My Deviled Crab

One of the nice things about having a studio in the middle of Ybor City is the fact that there is such an incredible variety of places to eat at within walking distance. Carmine’s is famous for their deviled crabs and I grabbed a few there for dinner last night. Of course I amused myself with a camera while waiting for the food.

Yes, I Took My Camera to Dinner

And used it at dessert too.

Cut the Cake

A bit of fun with the wedding cake.

Sneak Peek

A bit of visual proof that those sacks are filled with something delicious.

Icons of the Southwest

Nothing says you have arrived in the southwest quite like a brilliant red chile ristra hanging in the sun in front of an adobe wall.

Friday Night in the Diner

I took this photo of the counter while having dinner in the Owl Cafe in Albuquerque. They have a great green chile cheeseburger that I keep going back for whenever I’m in town.

Job Perks

This little setup was part of a shoot I did on Saturday. The nice thing about it was that after I shot it I got to have it for my lunch.

It’s Pizza Time

Another image from my archives. Just one of the countless random shots that I tend to make whenever I’m out and about with a camera at hand.

A Day With Sunshine

Just a bright bit of color that caught my eye in my kitchen yesterday.

Finally Took a Day Off and Only Made Phone Pics

For the first time in months I took a day off and didn’t work on something for someone else. I took it easy and left the real cameras alone but I still couldn’t stop myself from taking pictures. I used my phone to snap a few shots while I was grilling my cheese-stuffed burgers and spiral-cut hot dogs.

Condiments and Crumbs

The silliest little things make me happy when I have a camera in my hand.

A Rare Treat

Being the nightowl that I am midnight snacks are a regular part of my epicurean repertoire however breakfast is decidedly not. By the time I typically wake up it’s certainly not being served anywhere.

Don’t Forget the Dessert

This is a sample from the dessert station that we had setup for high-key shooting at the food photography workshop this weekend.

Food Photography

I taught a food photography workshop this weekend and this was one of the many setups that we put together for students to photograph. I actually didn’t photograph anything until after the class was over so by the time I took this image the burger was about 5 hours old and had been manhandled and rearranged at least a dozen times by the students. Considering its age plus the wear and tear the burger still still looked fairly appetizing by the time I got around to pointing a camera at it.
