Heads Up

This nifty arrangement was leaning against the back wall of a church. I always enjoy it when I happen upon an interesting visual pun that I can shoot.

San Miguel Mission, Santa Fe

Built between 1610 and 1626 it is supposedly the oldest church in the U.S. I made this image on my last trip out west and I found it while looking back through some images as I begin to prepare for the next tour I’m leading.

I wanted to compose an image that highlighted the stained glass windows in the sanctuary of the Cathedral Basilica. It took quite a while to actually get the shot. There were some people who came in to pray and out of respect I waited patiently for a moment when the sanctuary was empty to shoot.
