A Peek Inside

A look at the interior of the home I posted a twilight photo of here yesterday.

Mostly Black and White

This is an interior view of a home I photographed recently and it gave me a sort of  flashback when I first walked in and took a look around. I had the distinct sensation that it looked like it could have been a set from the 80′s television show Miami Vice. If you are interested in seeing a few more images of the interior they are in this gallery of recent real estate photography: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/b1qkw7d9hdt69dp/qOwROvlU4R?m

Bedroom: Sweet

This wood in this bed and all the rest of the wood in the room was milled from a single cherry tree.

Rawhide

An interesting discovery inside an old barn up in the mountains. I loved the visual appeal of the afternoon light that filtered into the darkness through the various holes in the walls and the roof.

Busy

For the first time in a very long time I missed posting here for a few days. It’s simply because I have been shooting so much for clients that I am too busy continuously processing images to meet deadlines to stop and take the time to post here. For today I am posting an image I shot on one of my recent assignments just to break my streak of not posting.

Modern Living

So I’m back to posting images from work I’ve been doing for clients. This is from a set I did last week of a house with a very stylized interior.

San Miguel Mission, Santa Fe

Built between 1610 and 1626 it is supposedly the oldest church in the U.S. I made this image on my last trip out west and I found it while looking back through some images as I begin to prepare for the next tour I’m leading.

Latest Cover

In this case I was hired to go to the house and shoot just one shot – this specific view, for the cover.

All Work and No Play

I don’t make it a habit of posting client work here on my daily journal because as a general rule I like to use this venue as a place to display assorted personal work that I do for my own enjoyment. As I write this entry though I am at the point where except for the image I made in the rain yesterday I haven’t shot anything personal in a while. Shooting for clients has been keeping me more than busy and my calendar is heavily booked for some time into the future as well. This image is one that I was assigned to shoot for a magazine cover yesterday. It’s also the first shot that I’ve made with a new 7 foot diameter parabolic umbrella that I just had shipped in. I think I like the result.

A Peaceful Place… Now

The chapel of Our Lady of La Leche stands at the place where the first Catholic mass was held in the Americas in 1565. The current incarnation of the chapel was restored in 1914. Prior structures that stood here were subjected at various times to cannon fire, torching by pirates, accidental fires, and hurricanes.

The Garden Shed

Interior of the garden shed that houses the well for the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings Estate in Cross Creek, FL.

Sanctuary

I wanted to compose an image that highlighted the stained glass windows in the sanctuary of the Cathedral Basilica. It took quite a while to actually get the shot. There were some people who came in to pray and out of respect I waited patiently for a moment when the sanctuary was empty to shoot.

Cathedral Basilica Interior

This is one of several views that I expect to post here. I really enjoy it when I have the opportunity to photograph beautiful interiors like this.

Bright Spot

Inside the Cathedral Basilica in St Augustine a beam of light streaming through a window was striking the end of these pews and illuminating them in warm contrast to the somber interior of this part of the church.

Home Base

I spent last week in St. Augustine and this place pretty much served as headquarters. It was a very good trip.

The Old Fishing Shack

I got to take some time for myself the other day and do a bit of exploring mixed with a bit of  photography. This is an old fishing shack on the banks of a creek that I took several photos of, both inside and out.
