Following is a list of possible locations and activities that the tour may encompass. Which locations we go to and in what order we do so will be based on the desires of the group, weather, and available time. There are only so many hours in a day and sometimes if the shooting is great at a location we will stay at the expense of missing out on something else.

Petroglyph National Monument: Stretching for 17 miles along the West Mesa this area includes five volcanic cinder cones and a basalt escarpment containing an estimated 25,000 images carved into the lava rocks throughout 12,000 years of human culture. Insects, lizards, snakes, jackrabbits, roadrunners, and desert plant life abound here.

Village of Corrales: Located along the western bank of the Rio Grande this quaint agricultural village is home to a plethora of historic architecture including a hacienda dating from the 1700's and the San Ysidro Church, built of adobe in 1860 on the location of a earlier church that was swept away in a flood. In the fall you can smell the chile peppers roasting at the farmer's market as you wander among the old homes, peruse the art galleries and and antique shops, or enjoy a libation in a shaded courtyard beneath the ancient cottonwood trees.

Cibola National Forest and Sandia Mountain: This is your chance to get acclimated to high altitude conditions in the far southern end of the Rockies. We will travel to the eastern side of the mountain and hike various trails in the forest at differing altitudes. Towering spruce trees, quaking aspens, and oaks provide shade for you as well as shelter for an abundance of wildlife. We will picnic along a clear mountain stream containing plant life vividly colored by minerals in the water. Those who wish can take a short side trip to view ancient caves that provided shelter for some of the regions human inhabitants as far back as 10,000 years ago. Later in the day we will ascend to the summit of the mountain at over 10,600 feet altitude. Sheer cliffs and jagged slopes on the mountain's western face provide stunning views of the city lying in the Rio Grande valley below. Sunsets can be spectacular from here. Explore the trails that run along the ridge top and choose your vantage point. After dark we will descend to the city for a hearty supper and a restful bed.
